This story is amazing, captivating, heart breaking and fulfilling. It walks you through the life of a young girl who was recently diagnosed with Type I diabetes and a damaged soldier. It makes you explore decisions you have made to withhold the truth from people you like/love for your own selfish reasons, and shows you that honesty will always win in the end!
Jolene Perry has an amazing style about her writing that grips you and refuses to release you until the very end! She not only has the ability to make you feel as if you know the characters of the story, but also as if you are living the story right along side them!
There are no words to describe the connection that happens between these two characters. There are also no words to describe how torn apart I felt when she passes out and he struggles to get her medical help, or when he is finally able to go visit his Sargent's wife.
Although, this story made me cry uncontrollably at times it also made me feel overwhelming joy that in the end, they were both able to work through their "lists" and find their way back to one another with a new sense of purpose and determination.
Congrats Jolene Perry for an amazing book about sickness and honesty, and how being truthful and facing fears always wins in the end!
